At a glance
Your workout records, bodyweight entries, custom exercises, exercise mappings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Spotter does not sell your information, run advertising trackers, or currently send workout text to an AI service.
Information stored on your device
Spotter stores the information you enter so the app can provide logging, history, progress, and personal record features. This can include:
- Workout names, dates, notes, exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, durations, distances, and related training details.
- Bodyweight measurements.
- Custom exercise names and manual phrase mappings.
- App preferences such as units, appearance, and onboarding status.
This information is stored locally by the app and is not uploaded to a Spotter-operated server.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Spotter requests permission to read bodyweight measurements. Spotter uses those measurements to add entries to your weight history and display your trend.
Apple Health access is optional. Spotter does not write to or delete data from Apple Health. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app. Copies already imported into Spotter remain on your device until you delete them in Spotter or remove the app.
Subscriptions and purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. Spotter uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status, restore purchases, and determine whether Spotter Pro is active. For these purposes, RevenueCat may process an app user identifier, purchase and receipt information, subscription status, and limited app or device information.
These providers handle information under their own policies. See Apple's Privacy Policy and RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Analytics, advertising, and AI
Spotter does not currently include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and it does not sell personal information.
AI exercise correction is not currently enabled. Workout names, exercise names, and workout text are not currently sent to an AI provider. If an AI feature is enabled in a future version, this policy will be updated to explain what is sent and why before that feature is made available.
Retention and deletion
You can delete workouts and bodyweight entries using the controls in Spotter. Removing Spotter from your device deletes its locally stored app data, subject to any device backups managed by Apple.
Deleting Spotter does not delete original measurements from Apple Health. Purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat as required to provide subscription services and meet legal obligations.
Children's privacy
Spotter is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
Spotter limits data collection and keeps workout data on your device to reduce exposure. No storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, so you should protect access to your device and Apple ID.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Spotter's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
